i know its on the detail page, but this is so awesome, that i feel it needs repeating in the discussion thread:

from Tim: "I’m really happy to have been able to do this print. It feels like I’ve been drawing Tranformers in one way or another for my ENTIRE life. There’s a file full of old Crayon drawings of Optimus Prime in my parent’s house right now. I loves me some robots.

I am constantly and pleasantly surprised by Hollywood’s restraint in not making a Transformers movie SINCE 1986. It’s really charming that this great property has been allowed to exist pure and undamaged in the memories of everyone who grew up in the 1980′s. I mean, can you imagine if they let some dumb-ass lowest-common denominator director dirtbag take a huge dump all over Transformers? And if they cast some schlub with a face like a foot in the lead, and tried to ‘sex it up’ with some bomb-shell in a crappy tacked on romantic story?"

as a TF fan since childhood, i wish i could pick this one up but im sure the flippers and mondo donkeys will be all over it... :hanging:

Took a screenwriting class with the guy who wrote this film. Very cool teacher.

only available in store at austin books and comics in austin, tx when they open at 9am tomorrow - according to the nakatomi, inc mailing list. this one won't be available online. wish i had a friend in texas to go grab one for me because i love mr. doyle's stuff..

from the email:

"Austin Books will have the above print (along with it's metallic variant) IN-STORE ONLY this Wednesday when they open at 9am! To read more about it, and how to maybe get your hands on one, go to http://www.austinbooks.com

They really don't have many, so if you want what is sure to be an in-demand limited item, I wouldn't sleep on this! Call a buddy in Austin or even the greater Texas area, and tell them to get down to Austin Books and Comics for you!"

the gold and silver variant looks killer too.

I snagged the Transformers prints today. They are awesome in person. The variant is superior with the metallic inks, but the regular also has kind of a shininess to it as well.

Unfortunately, it was one per person, so I can't hook anyone up. :(

Picked up the variant this morning, and the metallics really shine. Awesome print Mr. Doyle.

There were like 5 people in line when I went, but that was it. The guy there said he was positive they would sell out of variants today. I would go sooner rather than later.
