Moonalice 420 Screenprint
Smokin' Toad
This stunning limited-edition silkscreened poster was created by Chris Shaw and Ron Donovan to celebrate Moonalice's 420 Pow Wow at Slim's in San Francisco April 20, 2010. Shaw's iconic "Smokin' Toad" artwork is well-paired with Donovan's mastery of printing, and specialized ink chemistry. Printed by the artists at Oakland's infamous Firehouse Kustom Rock Art Co. in seven brilliant colors (including metallics), the posters have a color changing effect when viewed at different angles.
The SF/Bay Area band Moonalice has created over 275 posters in a numbered series since 2007. This series of posters includes work from Stanley Mouse, David Singer, Chris Shaw, Ron Donovan & Chuck Sperry, Alexandra Fischer, Dave Hunter, Wes Wilson and others. This is the first of Moonalice's much anticipated series of silkscreen posters.
The poster was released at Slim's on April 20th, 2010.
18x24, 7 colors, Silkscreen
Edition of 175
Signed & Numbered by Shaw & Donovan
19 variants created using special papers and differing color plate configurations.

ummm...awesome

I'll definitely be putting some of these for sale online, maybe as early as tomorrow. We sold quite a few at the gig, I need to take stock of whats left and decide where these will be released, I might do it personally, or we may sell them through the band's store. I'll post a link to wherever when they're available.
Ron and I had a blast printing these.
Here's some more shots.
