I'm (admittedly) a broken record when it comes to Slater, but I really think Todd is absolutely on fire lately. The sketches he did here of the dogs, to me, represent a very new element to his design bag of tricks. I think they look so awesome. This piece is an interesting 'companion' in my opinion to his Jimmy Eat World/Broken Hearted Art Print. In that design, the cartoon-ish nature of design makes me think of 'the death of puppy love', but this design kind of freaks me out because of the viciousness associated with the characters.
I wonder if Todd was influenced by the widely reported (brotherly) infighting within KOL?

You mean all images in posters aren't literal? That's crazy talk....johnr1311 wrote:I dont think those are brothers in the image.

rumor has it that it's just like the regular edition, but a different color.

Kings of Leon - An interview I read for KOL said that their newest single, Sex on Fire is about people who have sex with each other despite hating each other and the image was built from that idea. My friend John Anderson thought the image represented a kind of teenage, animal type lust -which is also very fitting. I have to also thank Rob Jones for giving me the idea for this image.

Ya - thanks for posting that - I got the newsletter as well and that shed some light on things. I really like it when the artists talk about design inspirations etc. I was kicking myself after this years Austin Flatstock for not chatting more with Slater, Jones, Burwell and others about these sorts of things. In the end I spent much more time just circling around with my mouth agape...
