Any Peter Max fans know anything about this image, and the title's significance to it? Looks to me like a woman hoolding her own head like a balloon, after it was violently and recently removed (still bleeding out of the neck...)
So why a Mexican welcome? Because of the violence against women in the area south of El Paso, Texas? Was cartel violence bad in '71 like it is today?
I think it's cool. Not $8,000 cool, but an interesting image/title. Anybody?

el paso and juarez was pretty laid back when I lived there in the 70's......people used to go over to each side daily/regularly. People used to go eat lunch in Juarez........now, no one goes to Juarez. I mean, everyone always had bars on their windows and the club in their cars........don't get me wrong, it was no pleasure palace; but, other than some stealin' and lootin', there was no real danger.
damn good mexican food........I miss that fudge.

Thanks man. I was never alive in the '70s (well, in utero I was) and never lived anywhere that wasn't less than 150 miles from an ocean...so I have zero idea as to what this thing could have meant. And now I know I have even less frame of reference
