Anyone know how much (on average) a private commission cost? This is a run of 2 variations of 15. I'd figure even at $100/poster the artist only comes away with a $3000 minus cost of materials. This Space Odyssey's worthy of a drop from a major print house. That's just my opinion, add the fact that I wouldn't mind being able to grab one!

You are forgetting about printing and shipping costs too.Lockersocks wrote:Anyone know how much (on average) a private commission cost? This is a run of 2 variations of 15. Let's guess the artist's part at $4000 and the printing/shipping costs at $1000.
5000/15 is over $300 per person. I bet it was more.

True, I'm just thinking that 15 people shelled out a lot of money for an extremely limited run. The prints nice, I don't know if I'd go more than a few hundred bucks on it, but then again the the Joshua Budich Indiana Jones series commission is absolutely amazing!!!! So if you're a major Kubrick fan then I guess $300 plus is worth it.jeffreyjonesbsme wrote:You are forgetting about printing and shipping costs too.Lockersocks wrote:Anyone know how much (on average) a private commission cost? IMHO, this Raiders of the Lost Arc print is leaps and bounds above the 2001 print.

Everyone has a right to an opinion, but I much prefer the variant to the reg. Why is it in the Database but not in the discussion thread?

Yeah I have no desire for a 2001 poster but if I did, I can't imagine a much better looking one than this, and I'm sure with the metallics it will be even cooler than it looks here. Congrats guys!PrintNoob87 wrote:Really nice looking movie poster. Congrats on the commission!
