Definitely not. It's a rite of passage. Opened my first Lost print tube that way -cursing under my breath the whole time. Quite the dose of humility for me later, when the correct way was pointed out to me. I think every poster geek should have that experience though - builds character!

Wow, you should have kept that piece of extra information to yourself, lol. Your poster privileges have now been revoked!

I ripped the metal cap off with pliers three or four times before I saw that damn seam.

My first tube, I peeled all the tape off of it, and couldn't get the cap off. Until I figured out the seam. We have all been there.

Think I may have tried to pull the metal off once, too. Bad for the fingernails. On the flip side- I shipped something in one of those tubes and one or both ends fell off during delivery.
Tape probably would've helped. The contents survived unscathed, but be wary of reusing 'em.
just a foil for me today, thanks

I was cursing at the tube for being so damn difficult to open haha. Finally saw the seam and all was well  .

If they did something for that I would go nuts. Would need 6 poster buddies... to insure I got 1.

You just need to tape over the ends and they are generally ok to use.
