sperry's signature is quite reminiscient of the great rick griffin's
this aint no party, this aint no disco
i also love and have that millward CS and i'll tell you what i really like about drews work (beyond the obvious skillz)- the fact that the bands name is very low key and can easily be missed- this means that i can break my general rule of buying gigposters only of bands i love and indulge in mr millwards genius at will, especially as he doesn't do as many art prints as he used to- this applies particularly to circa survive who i find a tad dull and would never otherwise endorse, same with his mogwai poster
Over the river and through the woods it's into my mailbox it goes....
The copper scroll work is Bitchin IRL!
It makes the scroll work & Dracula POP like a mofo.
It does not change the look of the woman that much as far as depth goes.
+ this poster has an itty bitty wittle number..

^ Yup, pretty much looks as incredible as I thought it would. The detail in the woman's hair is awesome, congrats!

Jools, except for the Band of Horses and the Circa Survive print, that haul mirrors some of my recent acquisitions. Very nice. I can't wait to frame up my Grinderman.

I'll put my hands up and admit I hadn't even listened to CS until I read your post... i just loved Drew's posters, they could be for almost anyone and I'd still be into it if they had the usual Millward awesomeness....having listened to a few songs I would have to concur with your view though...not really my cuppa cha...it's made me think now though...i wonder what Opeth and Mountain Goats sound like? I started buyin posters for my favourite bands (Mudhoney, Dinosaur, Sonic Youth, Spiritualized, MBV etc) but as I've continued I'm prolly 50/50 now for bands I like and bands I've never even listened to...I actually got into School of Seven Bells because of the smallstakes poster....am i doing this wrong?qotsa909 wrote:i also love and have that millward CS and i'll tell you what i really like about drews work (beyond the obvious skillz)- the fact that the bands name is very low key and can easily be missed- this means that i can break my general rule of buying gigposters only of bands i love and indulge in mr millwards genius at will, especially as he doesn't do as many art prints as he used to- this applies particularly to circa survive who i find a tad dull and would never otherwise endorse, same with his mogwai poster
