I think I like dark and intersting as opposed to light and fluffy.

I looked at banskys site and only saw photos of his grafitti stuff. he does posters?

i am a n00b as well, but i think it is safe to say that you will find an artist or art that you like. this type of thing is all down to personal preference in my opinion as art is subjective. the best piece of early advice i have been given is: if you don't like the image and can't imagine in on your walls; then don't buy it. i never realized how much a good frame job cost until recently and getting your archival storing goodies will also be another 'hidden' cost. flipping can seem lucrative and fun, but that's not my thing so i have little to say about that. most important thing to me seems to be to find what you like and enjoy yourself. :ziggi:

personally i like rene gagnon a lot and his prices are fair. he packages stuff great and often sends you free stuff with your order.
eelus has some amazing prints and may be my next focus.
as the person above me says, banksy. tho his work costs a lot of money as he is a very big and established name. people are whores for names i might add. that is my last bit i would say is don't buy into hype (tho his is warranted imo). it won't make your print any more fetching on your eyes just because there is a long thread about it on EB.

i spend hours of my day looking up artists and work on here and then learning more about them...all part of the fun.

hope you find someone that 'moves' you. :ziggi:

thanks for the help guys. I certainly understand how to search images and see what I like. what i'm looking for are what are the "big"names in this field. Who is generally considered a famous and renowned poster artist?

awesome. thanks for the list.

I actually don't care about the flipping. I just want to decorate my walls with cool stuff. I just assume that renowned and/or flippable often coincide with good and well liked. I'm just looking for a list of artists to check out. Now i've got one. thanks.
