Olly Moss mystery tubes
Hi, I'm sorry this is the first thing I have bought from a drop of posters so I am kind of new to this.
But, is it normal for stuff to be oversold and get an email like the one I got? Man this really sucks I bought one like right after I got the email and I just got an email telling me they are sending my money back...
Pretty bummed out.

They are Indy, Die Hard, and Deer Hunter. Olly confirmed.maden wrote:Refunded. I hope that the prints are Rain Man, American History X and the Great Dictator.

The hype is strong with this one.
yup i'd agree with this... but it's also why i (and i assume others) are digging his work so much... total breath of fresh aircadeallaw wrote:Nah... just curious. I think that Olly does a great job of creating minimal images to represent whatever it is he is creating a poster for; that is not an easy task and he really has an eye for it. However, It is the polar opposite of what Stout does, sketching every aspect of said movie and throwing it on a poster, which is what I speculate is more in allignment with what most EBers like. Either way, I am not one to purchase or frame movie posters (and I'm a terrible flipper), so I would have passed... Which leaves me with my original question:Eighty wrote:cadeallaw wrote:Out of curiousty... does anyone who bought one plan on doing anything with it other than flip it?

After Die Hard, I'd love the American History X poster, over Deer Hunter and Indy.maden wrote:Refunded. I hope that the prints are Rain Man, American History X and the Great Dictator.
Reading between the lines, yes, I'll trade a Deer Hunter or an Indy for a Die Hard print if I'm skunked.
As for the Stout v Moss debate ... there's plenty of room in this world for both styles.
I think it was ColdsoreSS who astutely stated that thse Moss prints are for folks who are hard core fans, a subtle piece of the flick captured in an aesteticly nifty manor in a print that can spur an entire conversation over something so seemingly simple.
Stout just kills you with glorious detail from all angles ... main characters, sub characters ... even minor inanimate objects that trigger feelings towards the movie.
I'd gladly hang Moss' Die Hard print right next to a Stout take on the same film. Both would be fantastic.
