Ok so here's my story. About a year ago in late January of 2009, I purchased a 2008 subscription from an artist. I figured it would be great that I could pick up a year's worth of prints relatively quickly since all of the work was already done at that point. So I got the first of what was to be two shipments in March or April. So now here I am in 2010 and I still haven't gotten this second sub shipment.

I'm in pretty regular contact with the artist and have been promised nearly every week since the beginning of October that "it will be in the mail this week." There have obviously been many trips to the post office since then for this artist since he puts out work pretty regularly. So I'm pretty much stuck at this point until he decides to send my shipment right? Payment was made a year ago so there's nothing Paypal can do. Anyone else have any similar situations?

if he is a stand up guy, i would hope you'd get your stuff eventually, with enough "extras" to offset the wait.

tough spot to be in.. i assume his other sub holders are in the same boat?

Possibly. I don't know of anyone else who has his sub.

You can say whatever you want. But you also have to be prepared to answer for it. Lukin, being a good dude, isn't gonna come in here ripping somebody. And, if nothing else, you don't want to rip someone that owes you something.

you know, if you're on good terms with this artist and in regular contact, i have no doubt that if you politely asked for the appropriate refund you would receive it or the remaining prints quite quickly. it's his choice, he just needs to make up his mind which is worth more and/or easiest.

If this was an ebay member, and you paid for something you had not received, the username would be all over this thread already.
Why should an artist get special treatment? Its basically the same scenario.

Because the artist will continue to put out new work, potentially work lukin would like to own. So, he may not want to get on that artist's bad side.

And ebay user is an ebay user ... they are a dime a dozen.

even if he mentions the artist's name, i don't see how it is 'ripping somebody' to come in and wonder aloud where stuff that was produced in 2008 and paid for in 2009 is when the calendar says 2010?

i paid for a b.dix sub like 4 years ago and haven't received a damn thing other than a hat. so, if you read this b.dix, you still owe me a year's worth of posters.

Would you really want to buy more from an artist that doesn't deliver?

I know I wouldn't.
