Love this one. I'd like to see some different colours as well.
I missed his use of blue. Seems like forever since we got a classic blue piece from DD.machination wrote:Love this one. I'd like to see some different colours as well.

That's true. His paintings earlier this year used blue quite well. I was just thinking that a red or a black would make it more menacing.GTMaus wrote:I missed his use of blue. Very true, didn't think of it that way. This one to me has the same feel as some of DD's classics, so I thought the blue fit it perfectly.machination wrote:That's true. I like the blue and black. The problem is that sometimes when I get them framed and up on the wall, they are so dark that the images lose something. For example, his String Cheese print.

That is exactly what I am talking about. It has actually kept me from purchasing some Dangers. Right now I have his Walkmen, Planes Mistaken for Stars, and String Cheese Incident framed on the wall. Although I am in Chicago and love the SCI image, I definitely prefer the other prints because I can actually see them.

Try and see them in person before writing them off. Never trust a jpeg.
And for what it's worth, Daniel's most popular print from the last year or so was "Whatever the Hell..." and that's blue/dark.

I am not trying to criticize DD's work. To the contrary, I am a big fan of his. I have also seen most of his work in person as recently as Flatstock in Chicago. My only point is that I wish the black and blue was easier to see when I hang it up in my room.mistersmith wrote:Try and see them in person before writing them off. Never trust a jpeg.

since the gallery claimed theirs are 3rd out of 15, I think it's a safe bet.shyofnormal wrote:so is there any difference between the artist and g1988 editions? are they numbered separately?
