It's based on a street piece, the day the 2nd gulf war started Chris poured red gloss over a Shell hoarding in his town so it looked like the logo was bleeding over the prices below. The next day the local papers reported it as a protest against rising fuel prices, small town small minds. I get what everyone says about it being derivative but I think the fact that it's based on a piece of spontaneous (probably drunken) graff gives it more cred than a lot of stuff out there.

didn't buy a poster with similar usage of the shell logo and similar message at a punk concert in 91? they also had t-shirts.
