This .... was a steamrollin' concert In San Francisco last night.
Carlos Sanata showed up towards the end and jammed with the band, tradin' licks with Derek.
Hell of a nice venue, too. Gotta lota character.
For anyone even thinkin' of seeeing Derek Trucks ... go!
Says something about him that he has the balls to play Rodgers & Hammersteins ' 'My Favorite Things' from the 'Sound of Music' to a crowd that breathes rock. Played in a John Coltrane style. Played about 3 jazz/rock tunes. Lotsa blues/rock and some bare boned blues. Acid blues. hella slide player.
Not your everyday Pop or Mainstream music.
Concert was even better with all the good company .... itsdug and squirt and station4 and gammalyte..
And last but not least ... the jpegs do little justice to this poster.
The poster has metallics and luminescence and intricacies you need to see with the naked eye.
Kudus to squirt ... the youngster's been on a roll!

"Those English kids want to play the blues so bad—and they do play the blues so bad".
Sonny Boy Williamson on the feeble attempts by '60's British bands to play the blues.

This is quite something--it took me quite awhile to figure out the lettering.
