This has got to be taking up too much space on someone's wall. I'll gladly take it of your hands for you.

I stumbled onto some old posts of Daniel's going through the process of creating this painting.

hey folks,
im doing two huge paintings for a show in 3 weeks, and i just started yesterday on the first one, so i better get cracking. theyre not really a diptic, but theyre meant to be together. at the very least, near each other. so, i guess ill post some pictures as i go along. you know, for giggles

Image
reference photo i took. left some lights on in the backyard and set a 30 second exposure time.

Image
big ol' blue canvas. 36x60x2". note my neck, i need to lay off the sweets.

Image
initial underpainting. gettin some tonez down. ruining a perfectly good brush with my harsh underpainting style..

Image
little more highlighting, little more light branches, had some gatorade and fritos.

Image
some more punching out, some splattering, more finer light branches, little more razzletazz..

more to come.

pokin along. im trying to catch the 2nd painting up to where i am on the first. so i can work back and forth and keep the two consistent looking.
.

Image
last one for today. more highlights and junk. la la la.
