I mean his Pulp Fiction poster is one of my all time favorite posters. I do agree about the Jaws poster being overrated though considering what it's going for these days.
I think the underlying retro // almost WPA-travel-poster-like style LD excels at is particularly appealing. I also really like his linework // crosshatching work and find some of his concepts (particularly his older works) to be pretty clever.
Though a quick perusal through my collection would easily revel my bias

My Noob Confession: I used to actually type out "Drymount"
I really do like LD (or at least, several years ago when he was doing such great work)—I've got The Birds framed on my wall, and one of my most-desired posters is his Breakfast at Tiffany's, which unfortunately he sold to the wrong Mondo, who priced it out of my league. It's just that Jaws poster, though, and I suppose especially because it's become such a grail.

I wonder how crazy these prices will rack up to be by the end of the auction. Just been looking again today and there are some crazy prices already and it's only the second day!
New to the Movie Art Poster scene.

Any reason why? I feel like you would be a good source as you follow these auctions more closely than a lot of us.
I guess it's part "good cause" and part "trusted buyer"?

The cause has something to do with it. I also feel like this will be promoted to the point it reaches folks that aren't exactly collectors but might have the kind of money to drop a few large on cool, collectible posters. I already received an email from a co-worker about the auctions and he isn't a print collector at all, though he is somewhat involved in 'geek' culture. I am sure folks feel better about buying from a reputable auction house rather than some rando on ebay that has kept all their prints "tube stored, mint just like it was shipped!"
The best part will be all the folks who come out asking for twice market when some of these auctions hit stupid prices.

Ha.... very true. I haven't really purchased many prints over the last year or two but lately have gotten the itch back again. Seeing a lot of these classics will probably make me reach out to some folks and grab one or two. I wouldn't mind paying a slight premium for the cause, but I have a feeling most will end up way over market value... which is a good thing in this case.
I also think that because of the size of the auction, there might be some bargains to be had as well.
The top tier stuff is going to do very well. The other stuff, who knows?
The auction is a good opportunity to fill some gaps in the collection from a trusted source.
