this happened to me once when I sent Clem99 a tube. I don't know how it happened, but it did. I no longer put the poster snug into the crotch of the fold in the craft paper.....probably leave a 1/4" space to help against this possibly happening again.

I've shipped about 10,000 tubes and it's only happened that one time.

Good luck boys......play nice.
BTW....I'd like to thank these two who were the only two not to judge based on a one sided conversation that obviously left a lot out.

$100 seems fair for stuff that will frame out.

While it may or may not be, my personal perspective is I don’t want a drymounted up print in my drawers. Definitely not with what is described as “new” damage. The existing dings are, while not very apparent, also visible on the “original” photos. Why wouldn’t a person disclose it up front? I’d probably take a bill for those alone, for this particular print (it wouldn’t necessarily make me happy though, but I would live).

In order to create the “new” damage while unpacking, a guy would have to be stupid, which Jim clearly isn’t. At the same time, fudge is definitely more likely to happen while packing. It just makes sense and one doesn’t have to be mentally challenged in order for that to occur.

That’s my perspective that isn’t worth two cents. I have never interacted with either of the guys beyond what is said on this forum - that is, I have never dealt with them. Both seemed solid “old timers” to me.

I’ve never had a call out thread.
Never will.

Again-
This is the picture I received of the top ding.
Image

Here it is with a decent picture.
Image

Here’s the picture of the lower ding I received.
Image

Here is what it really looks like.
Image

Here is the picture I sent of the D&C explaining there is a edge issue that stops me from listing this trade as 100% mint.
Officially I entered this trade with this as mint / near mint.
Image

Truck:
Telluride print is mint from emek #55 I believe stored flat.
Me:
You kind of have to be my eyes.
Asked about the bot right corner....
With the line through it.

He Still never admitted there was an obvious line through the corner.

Truck:
its funny, I noticed that in the picture, but dont really see anything up close. I can send first, I have trust and confidence in your longevity and feedback...if it passes your eye, then send the D&C....if not...send it back....work for you?

Mark

Me:
Sounds great thank you.

Jojo and I both have accidentally folded a corner while rolling.
That’s not even the issue.
I would have never done this trade had the two dings been pointed out.
All we have is our word.
I was obviously mislead at the very least.

As I explained and was chastised for, I’ve been reluctantly having to accept damaged posters at discounted prices.
I can’t do it anymore.
I didn’t do anything wrong.
Thank you

And enough with the additional $100 from the post office.
That is a pipe dream.
You’ve dragged this out for two weeks.
Do you really think I can take a flawless tube and this poster to my PO and get 100 bucks?
That’s what YellowBedWetter though too.
I wasted a bunch of time with that guy too...
Waited a month before the post master said,
“ uh... no. The print was damaged by improper packaging “

Drop Lightyears name?
I explained that I did this exact thing when I packed a poster for him. 15 years ago.
I replaced it immediately.
Ask him.

I have to get some work done...
In short.
I was sent a “ mint “ poster with these two dings.
I was told I could send it back if it didn’t pass.

looks like there are two different conversations here - one in regards to the gorilla grip type bends, the other about those two dings on the right edge.

Yup.
The latter would have never happened with honesty.
I’m not sure how someone can accuse a buyer of damage like that from simply unrolling it.
How?
Purposely?
Why?
I’m not fishing for a discount.
I don’t want the Butterfly print back... I have 3 AE copies.
I only want the PJ Telluride... I was at the show.
Why in the world would I crunch a poster to go through this?
Mind numbing.
