surprised this one was competitive. I had a meeting so I missed out. I will have to wait for the price to tank on this before getting one off ebay.
I thought it would be. Because, zomg, Haring!
I kind of forgot, lol. Remembered when ealrgrey posted his juan thing. No regrets.
How are they doing with the last lp? Is it below cost yet? I haven’t been following.
I get the Haring image thing but it is dull and lifeless IMO. Haring's work had so much color that an image of him is reduced to black/grey/white is just awful.
Welcome Visitor has left the steak stage and has entered the happy meal stage.....around $350 sales price. I don't know that it will sell for less than cost but it will certainly sell for less than cost when fees are factored in which is probably around $340 including shipping.

I agree about the colour. Maybe the reason I “forgot” and don’t really care much.

I finally bit and got one for 335 today. close enough to cost that I figured it was worth stashing one away for a rainy day or maybe even framing up.
I think the Hering is a decent portrait. I'm curious if the letterpress process will yield variations in ink density in those shadow areas or if it stays consistent through the edition. One thing is obvious, Shep like working with them and experimenting with the medium and translating different imagery styles. Skate Kid just didn't translate well, but I think this one does.
As for color, I think of all the subway chalk pieces on black paper or his simple black line on white before the vivid color work.

I thought this one would start with happy meals and progress to people losing their money but it seems it is starting with steak and working its way down.

ISO 12 X 12 version without all the names. Someone mock it up for me, chop chop.

It's right there on the page, more prominent than the actual poster.

Nice! I want the red border too though, and I want it as a letterpress.
