Hey dudes, a lot of that stuff you send FedEx ends up getting delivered by USPS.
Not really.
yes really, both ups and fedex will hand off to USPS to finish certain deliveries.

'a lot' might be a stretch but its absolutely a thing.
Yes, if you do "Smartpost" or some cheap option it will end up with USPS. But if you're trying to avoid USPS, as I have been the past couple of months then send it Fedex ground/Home delivery etc, gets there faster, is tracked all the way to delivery. So still not really if you're actually using FEDEX delivery. Which I highly recommend, cuz USPS is drymounted right now.

not even the government has faith in USPS
Whatever you are smoking send some my way. The government is actively sabotaging the USPS. have you been paying attention?
and you dont think they have problems?

massive --- leadership is weak
selling rigged insurance that any regualr business would be sued to high heaven
the usps was running fine until a Republican lead congress boned them.

Such a scam, the republicans are dying to privatize the USPS or at least suck off their corporate lobbying overlords at FEDEX and UPS. But first! They wanna make sure that mail in voting doesn't happen.

https://ips-dc.org/how-congress-manufac ... to-fix-it/

it was running with profit until then. and its being sabotaged now. it could easily be fixed.

The end of June Trump signed a 10 billion emergency bill to fund usps and he said he will sign the new bill if they will take the pork out of it
As the numbers show they need to update their business model . Who needs mail everyday ?

His pork is simply the mail in voting, he couldn't make it more clear as to why.

Kneecapping what is adjacent to a public utility right now shouldn't even be a conversation.

It's not as much an expense only problem and an expense and income problem. The cost of sending a letter here is 20-30% less than the rest of the developed world. On the expense side, close PO locations in the middle of nowhere.

What I'm trying to say is they aren't competitive and have an outdated business model as shown by the numbers but as usual ......trump , trump , trump

Uh, he has to sign the bill and explicitly stated the reasons he doesn't want to with crumbs to back it up. Nothing to due with a business model and willingly obtuse given the current events.

So yeah, you mention him and I mention him within that context. Crazy how that works

It's the primary (nothing really a close second) shipping service of this hobby, basing the overall benefit of its continued function on a web forum thread is a good idea though.

Even with all the locations in the middle of nowhere, the USPS has always funded itself. The advance payments to fund pensions 50 years out, which no one else has to do, is the sole reason they are hurting today. And a certain group of politicians is responsible for that.

They’re just pissed that PE can’t load it with debt and take it private.

USPS lower prices are the thing anchoring rates for the private shippers.

It's not just the pensions...

That was a fairly detailed explanation, thanks. the fact still stands that it's a national service. It doesn't have to make money. It's like the military, we pay for it.
