MGM commissioned a bunch of work for steel books.
Speaking of, are steelbooks still worth anything?
Not that it affects your question at all, but just to correct myself, I think they were actually just faceplate inserts on the blu rays now that I think about it. Carry on...

The Last of Us Part 2 really pushed the demand for this print into the four digit mark: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200 ... H_Sold%3D1
What the hell is this?! It's literally the concept art used for the marketing campaign and it sold for how much?

Yes. But there's only 40 and it's key art. Plus it's a great image.

Lol. Good question. Say I paid $15 for some random one 5-10 years ago and $15 for a regular blu-ray of the same movie. Are they both worth $1 (or whatever used blue-ray disks cost nowadays) or is the steelbook still worth $15 or more?. I have quite a few I wouldn’t mind getting rid off if it was worth my time. Most are just random movies that were sold in this packaging. Some I bought from some Korean companies that I don’t remember the names of. Pretty sure I have a few from Mondo as well.

Edit: Surprisingly, I even knew where they are. Here are a few from the “top of the pile”:

Looked those ^ up on eBay. Nothing special, but looks like more than I what I paid for them. I really need to get rid of all that garbo.

its similar to posters some are but it depends on the movie and the availability.

in terms of speculation its pretty iffy just due to the fact that most are available pretty easy with pre order.

this mondo thread has certainly been a little more 'catch all' the last few days.

^ Most I bought were bought as blu-rays to watch, just like all other blu-rays I have. Then I got a glimpse of this Korean stuff somewhere, bought a few and forgot about it, apparently, until now. I think I only have mondo drive (but may be mistaken because I had no idea I had this iron man and wall-e, for example, lol). Checked the drive prices on the bay and it looks like it’s time to sell for those who have one. I even updated the price chart (you are welcome) as it looks like no one here was interested in it since 2017 and I don’t blame you: https://expressobeans.com/members/detai ... 03/history

I have been thinking to donate most of my blu-rays to the local library right before the COVID fudge hit the fan. They have been sitting on the shelves for the past few years and I hardly watch any of them. Now this steelbook stuff was brought up and I remembered that I actually have some. Figured I should ask while we are at it.

Last few days? Luls. It’s Mondo thread. I didn’t even feel bad “derailing”. I even updated the price chart because of this “derailment”, lol.

hey some of those korean releases are dope. but yeah if you're not into physical media, it's a boot useless and you might as well sell them. buyers in the US appreciate not having to pay overseas shipping for those things, especially right now

Anyone who ordered the “Big Trouble in Little China” print a few months ago get theirs yet? Seems like this one is taking forever to print/ship out.

Yep... but not concerned. Even prior to this pandemic they were getting a bit slower on shipping (from my understanding it was due to warehouse move or something), so I'm not surprised that things have gotten worse.

I'd forgotten about this but just happened to look it up last week as well. I got a shipping notification today.

I hit "pay now" and the button just turned into a spinning circle for what seemed like forever. Never had a hiccup there before but finally went to the processing order screen and eventually confirmation. Didn't expect such demand since different versions of it have been going on sale for a week or so now.
