Thought it was a geico caveman print at first.
At least dem hands/arms are fine this time.
Are you looking at the same print everyone else is looking at?
I was joking, of course.

I could do without the MBW like 4 colorways
I could (and will) do without this print altogether, to be completely honest.
I really don’t get the choice and execution. The dude has gazillion photos to choose from that are more suitable for Shep’s style. Oh well. Good luck to bots/funko crew/whoever they are.
At least this piece of art brought all these people who hardly post anymore to this thread.

I've got a mostly complete letterpress collection so I somehow feel compelled to buy where I might normally pass. The funko group will be very sad if they jump on this drop. I see this as maybe $100 on the secondary market.

Yeah, absent the background it looks strange....sorta like someone having a convulsion on a board.

Background or not, it's an odd picture. When he first released the pictures, I thought it was a charity release for cerebral palsy or something.

All this anti-hype, this print is going to absolutely kill it on the secondary!*
This is easily one of Shep's weakest prints in a long time. Phoned-in, doesn't even vibe with the current state of skating, but is ironic at the same time. It depicts a mongoloid man-creature from a bygone era, riding an archaic board. Falls in line with the message, he's trying to save an outdated form of media that is in a death throw for the past 10-20 years. Magazines are rapidly going the way of the dinosaur. Unless you're a mega wealthy person who wants to fund something for the sake of it, Juice will move online and fade into obscurity sooner than later.
With skate companies allocating less and less dollars towards print ads thanks to the rise and immediacy of social media. Waiting for a magazine to show up that has pictures of something that happened 30 days ago is now passé and has been for some time. And in the case of Juice you have to wait every 90 days (only printed 4 times a year). The only way Thrasher Magazine has been impervious to the print media apocalypse is because every year they literally sell a million t-shirts and hoodies, in addition to all the other products like stickers and hats. Thrasher has perfected the "it factor" branding. And it doesn't hurt that out of all the youth/young adult sports mags Thrasher is the one with the biggest subscription base.
Although noble, Shep could have easily made a print that won't be forgotten. This one is just really bad.

Shep as the activist he is should be creating an elegant piece that relates to this time in history. This is a lazy "gimme money"

I'd have to imagine that his low priced prints don't provide the bulk of his income. Its chump change compared to what he earns from the clothing and fine art. His average $60, 500 edition drop gross about $30k. Assume 25 drops a year and you are at $750k gross. His fine art pieces for the 30 year anniversary were editions of greater than 10 and cost more than $10k. So 30 fine art works times $100K+ per image = $3M.

Like 8 of his last 10 releases have related to this time in history. And this print is to help Juice stay in business. Take a lap lebantz.

I'm of the impression that the prints fund operation of the studio, he is only a %partner in the clothing line and then the Fine Art work is his gravy.
