his comments got deleted. basically a bunch of stuff from the former politics threadCodeblue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:53 pmHuh?mike123230 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:13 pmLike that one guy in the stout forum talking about the KKK. Neato.
Random act of moderation. The duke was complaining about his comment based on factual information (Hilary forming KKK, etc; the usual fudge ninjas who are fantastic talk about in Stout and Mondo threads) being deleted and then it got deleted again because of the same reason. Now people think I just randomly post “Luls” all over the place.Codeblue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:53 pmHuh?mike123230 wrote: ↑ Like that one guy in the stout forum talking about the KKK. Neato.

Ironically i created the thread to divert the late 2016 election drama into a dedicated thread away from everything else.finneganm wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:25 pmI picked up that "oh he's a drymounting dummy" torch a few times myself. Happy to do so, and will do so again if he continues posting dumb stuff elsewhere.
As for the entire section being deleted, after two minutes of reflection, I'm all for it.
There was absolutely some good conversation and topic discussion mixed in there, but it overwhelmingly just devolved into angry horseshit, and it was frankly kind of embarrassing for the site.

Pretty much that. When new members wander over to the forums those threads were typically the first thing they saw. It turned into something embarrassing, avoidable, and not in the best interest of the site.
We want this to be a fun place as well, really. But we need moderator volunteers to help make that happen. Then we can turn on for sale thread comments and other things. If we turned them on today, and wanted to keep things civil, it would take heavy moderation... which members have expressed their not a fan of and the current set of volunteers don't have capacity for.

I support that call, but what's he gonna moderate? The pol forum was pretty damn tame by innernutz standards, including the personal "attacks"..
You simply can't have the holloi polloi discussing politics without there being an element of bullshit. If EB doesn't want that, fine, but let's not pretend that a mod was gonna prevent a thread about Donald Friggin Dump from devolving in places without throwing blatant/repeat liars into the penalty box. And who has the time to vet content to that level?
