any news if the art galleries in NYC and across the country have been F*cked with? Looted?
I dont want to name any or their locations...

Are the looting crowds art fans? I don't think it matters if the galleries are mentioned after being looted due to the horse already being out of the barn.
I did read about a LA gallery looted but they also sold sneakers.
Here is an article about racism, the art world and a Kaws Companion being stolen.
The US has a big racism problem and the art world is not helping

If they are smart they have insurance. They are just like CVS and every other retail store, they just sell different stuff. If I were the gallery I'd just file a claim and if the insurance company wants to chase those who took the items they are free to do so.

I wonder if any of the people who took stuff knew what they were taking. It didn't look like people were taking framed pieces so maybe the Banksys were spared. Hope they had Pest Control certificates.

Beats me, the way it was explained to me is that riots are unpredictable events, therefore not insurable.kansasbbq wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:48 amIt's still theft, is it not?ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 5:50 pmI heard riots aren't covered by insurance.jjttdw wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 2:45 pmIf they are smart they have insurance. You heard wrong. I'm not sure who explained it to you but perhaps you should slap them upside the head. One of the main purposes of insurance is for unpredictable events....does a business owner know when / if a tornado is going to wipe her store from the face of the earth?ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:14 amBeats me, the way it was explained to me is that riots are unpredictable events, therefore not insurable.kansasbbq wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:48 amIt's still theft, is it not?ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 5:50 pmI heard riots aren't covered by insurance.jjttdw wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 2:45 pmIf they are smart they have insurance. The Insurance Information Institute said riots, civil commotion, vandalism, looting and fire in the U.S. are covered perils under virtually all business owners and commercial insurance property policies. Merchandise stolen by looters will also be covered.
III said about 40 percent of small to mid-sized businesses are also protected by business interruption coverage.
