like on ebay? i could list it for sale, and if i don't get it, just refund it. Also, putting it for sale in the WT here on the site doesn't matter too much. I had an original that's on this site, and I was looking to move it, and a person who wanted to buy it wouldn't buy it because it showed to be in 2 peoples collections. some people are banking they're going to get it i assume.
Programmers can create stand-alone bots, too. Bots that you install on your pc or phone and are not linked to anything online. Of course, you'd still need to scan for virus prior to install. If I were to buy a bot , (which I'm not), I'd hire a local college student to write one for me. I wouldn't buy online.
Pretty sure the 12'ers, (the usual suspects), have a bot that they shared...or, so it seems. Just something I've observed a while back.

There was a bot distributed to 12'ers? Is there a way I can apply or a waiting list to get on or something?

I'd imagine it depends on what you want in a program. A basic program to use on only a single site or a more sophisticated one that you can use on any site. Find out thru a local college (or hacker space) where classifieds can be posted to hire a programmer. Ideally, you'd want to get a written quote and setup how deposit/final payment will be made. How much tech support that goes along with it after install. I can only tell you what I would do. If I had to guess...starting price for basic at around $250. Purely a guess.
I've always imagined its like high frequency traders. People building massive server farms closer to the servers doing the drops, and fighting out for milliseconds, to ensure they get access to their next must have print... that never gets framed and now has to be sold because girlfriend said so.
Sorry, its been a long six weeks.

A lot of bots are just Chrome extensions now. Perfectly safe. Google SuperCop Bot. It costs $50. I used to use it when I cared about Mondo and Bottleneck and it got me a couple of drops, missed on some others. For a while they switched to subscription pricing which totally was not worth it at all so I stopped using it but now that I Google it again to check it looks like they're back to $50 one time purchase. Still not my cup of tea anymore.
Some people also spend a lot of time kissing a lot of A$$ and become "friends" with galleries and artists.
Then of course some are just lucky and good.

if you are really interested in such bots i would advice you to take a beginner's python boot camp..Udemy has a "automize the boring stuff" course, after that it is just 5 simple steps, or look into ruby's mechanize. The extremely tricky part is making it non traceable through vpn loops, but even now with extensive vpn trackers available on demand it is risky. Even posting on here is trackable after jiut 2 loops
