I'm curious to see how much of a role he will play. Great seeing Irons in the full Ozymandias suit. I am looking forward to what his role is going to be.Devours wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 2:58 amJean Smart is one alluring fox. This was the first episode that had the intriguing intensity and excellent pace. This show needed a particular gravitas to emulate the iconic graphic novel and E3 succeeded. Something is off with the Chief Crawford though, I doubt he is dead and if that is the case, then yeah he is one charming bad guy. Loved Mr Irons playing theatrical prisoner who no doubt devours the Warden next week. The episode was great at explaining who 'Laurie Blake' was with a clever but sad retelling over a long distance phone call. It seemed that Dr Manhattan does have a sense of humor after all.
I cannot wait to see him again.

I feel like Dr. Manhattan already has a huge role and we haven't even seen him yet. I think it is pretty clear that Veidt is in a prison on Mars constructed by Dr. Manhattan. Albeit, the nicest prison ever. We'll learn more about why its so nice and why Veidt has freedom to construct clone/droids.
Jean Smart is exactly what the show needed to escalate it from Good to great. She does walk a fine line between coming on too strong with her bad ass, sarcastic attitude but right now its working.
Show has promise

3 episodes in and I'm not afraid to say this is my favorite show on TV right now. Look forward to it every week and we're only a third of the way into Season 1.
I actually think Jon stuck Veidt in the past . . . it's why he's working with such shoddy materials to achieve "spaceflight"Thinker wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 9:54 amI feel like Dr. Manhattan already has a huge role and we haven't even seen him yet. And since we haven't seen him yet, I'm really wondering if the Game Warden is Dan Dreiberg/NiteOwl . . .
Also, going back to my comment about Veidt's castle being the building we see in the Mars footage collapse, it's also the building that Abigail/Sister Night's son was constructing in his room of floating magnets that he destroys when she tells him about Judd's death.

Agreed. Last night's episode was one of the best so far. Interesting to see all the pieces fit in to place slowly.
Episode five was really great. Glad to see a proper good show on HBO. Especially out of such deep source material.
idk if any of y'all been following this, but its pretty interesting/involved (apologies for long link).
