Nice work Jim!

The industrial hemp paper is fantastic.

Just based on pictures I've seen online, this one was executed and printed really cleanly, compared to Jim's usual "imperfect" style. I'm curious to know why, compared to, say, the Baker's Dozen print, which has the typical, hand-made Pollock look to it. It can't just be the hemp paper.

This (Dick’s) was printed by Rohner Letterpress Co with an electric self-inking Heidelberg printing press, not by Jim.

The Baker’s Dozen was printed by Jim himself on his hand-crank “Vandercook” printing press. Thus all the imperfections (fingerprints, ink drops, even Jim’s hair) Pollock collectors have grown to love.

Hopefully I have the details correct, lol

Ok, so what was the process, then, for his 1.0 prints? I only have the Astron, and I'd love to see that sort of balance struck again, in terms of crispy little details, yet still hand-made. The Dick's print looks gorgeous. I love the depth in the image from the foreground to the mountains in the distance, but the printing is almost too sharp.

Everyone's a critic, amirite?

While I like this print, and am happy to finally have a Phish/Colorado Pollock, Jim's 2 color block prints really stand out and look so much better than when he stretches into 3 or 4 or more colors. It is something about the simplicity of working with just 2 colors that make his prints amazing imo. There are exceptions to the 2 color greatness, like the White Tape, which I never really liked, but now really like and have it in my ISO for the first time ever. I hope Jim continues to make 2 color block prints here and there. Great work Jim!!

INFO:

There was two runs of this, the 1500, and I believe a 100x AP run. AP Run has listings for over a few grand, but is selling for a good chunk of change over the 1500x pricing.

this would have been my first year - the pain .....

Halloween 95 would be the exception for 1.0 multi color prints :pint:
