I'm with you on this one. In the moment, it was effective - that nail in the steps! - but then immediately on reflection it doesn't hold up.RottenAtom wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 6:14 pmI know I'm in the minority, but I didn't care much for A Quiet Place (the movie).
Spoiler alert:
I'm not a fan of that dude from the office in general and it seems like his character went out of his way to die when he didn't really need to. Also, that movie has some big plot holes. Not a fan.
Also - that poster should really be landscape.

Mondo really dropped the ball not releasing a dark Phoenix poster. Shame on mondo!

I agree that a Dark Phoenix poster could have been great.
That Tomer is pretty cool. Looks like a Criterion Collection release cover.
A Quiet Place was pretty solid. I don't know that it deserves all the love it gets, but I really enjoyed it when watching in the theater. The tension of people trying to stay quiet in the theater amped up the whole experience. Haven't watched it since, so not sure it would "feel" the same at home.

I haven't seen Dark Phoenix, but I'm pretty sure KBBQ is dead on right.

Would have to work hard to be worse than Apocalypse.
I still enjoy First Class and DOFP.

After sitting through Apocalypse its hard for me to even fathom sitting through another Fox X-Men film, no matter how "fine" it is. I've got way too many bad memories attached the franchise to view with an open mind.
I like The Quiet Place in its vertical format. The movie is still trash, but the vertical view is a nice way to give open the world and show that something is lurking beyond surface level of the film.
The soundwave cloud gimmick is elementary at best, as per usual Mondo 2017-current.
