Man - went out of town and looks like lot's changed in just a few days.

Echo (almost) everyone with the huge props/kudos/internet high fives for all the work that's been put in here!

My one bone of contention - when did we drop the year joined? I need people to know I've been here for forever.

Why can I no longer edit my post? Has that always had a time limit before, or is that new?

There has always been a time limit on editing. Not entirely sure why. It's not changed since we upgraded but might be something we could change in the future.

I'm trying to get together a proposal for some changes to the forum for the board to thrash out. Time is short lately though with work and a young child to deal with.

Various ideas are bouncing around in my head including changes to the new user group, streamlining of the existing forums, clearer rules and moderating guidelines, a sales group that members automatically get added to after x amount of time that allows commenting but members can be removed from if they don't behave, a naughty step group where members get an x number of days timeout where they can only read topics, etc.

Happy to hear others ideas on ways we might do things a little differently for the future.

Can we make this area useful/interesting in some way?

Image

There used to be all those quick links to "My Page" and "View New Posts" etc and it was a lot nicer/more useful. Now there is the "Quick links" in the top left under what feels like a mobile menu, which makes them not very quick at all.

Also, can we also get larger images by default so I don't have to click on every image to see what it is with my old man eyes.

I agree with this. I also miss the link that would take you to just the threads you previously had posted in, to narrow down viewing each topic that's had new posts since your last visit.

Maybe. That area is different depending on device being used as its responsive. The breadcrumbs also extend further out depending on where you are on the site. I'm really not finding it too much of a hardship to click in the quick links menu now I'm used to it.

Sorry if this has already been answered. I've been away from the site for a week. Is "view new posts" gone?

Click on the "Quick links" in the top left, you'll see a New posts option.
