No worries. I nabbed a regular with just artist sig as I have a signed Graham Humphreys NOES quad screen print thru a prior commission.
Art and artist sig does the job just fine for me. Don't know which I prefer even tho UK art is more familiar to me from VHS cover.

Are you just going off the images or didn’t read anything about this release?fredo wrote:Seems like a good sign for society that the teaser "art print" costs 10 bucks more (and 60 bucks). Negative space ain't disposable space.
ps Hynes would've crushed that stop sign.
Yea had a feeling after that Hynes comment. Germain did a great write up on it:

And in regards to the price and when we work with late artist estates, a larger portion of sales, as it should, goes to it. Plus, we do small edition variants of the textless paintings often.

Joke was that there's almost nothing to the art print. No enlargement etc.
The sign image is straight in Hynes' wheelhouse. He does much with that kind of "flat-but-not-flat" looking work.
Understand Alvin was a pro - the Balzing Saddles is one of the best all time - and that this is not huge money in aggregate you're raising, but curious why the extra cost to pay the family as opposed to an artist. Or would there have been a diff here? Struzan ain't cheap, either.

just a foil for me today, thanks
Why would it be enlarged? It's the exact scan of the painting and how John had wanted it. He took a minimalistic approach to it and thats how we would print it.fredo wrote:Joke was that there's almost nothing to the art print. No enlargement etc.

Many artists probably would do a great job with the stop sign. I would love to see a Jonas Wood Stop sign. However, at the time of marketing in 86/87 they approached John to do it so these two and the one main poster with the cast on it are what he came up with. That was the point of this project. We will be doing a lot of things like this with the estate.
Costs of making of this print are still the same as if it was a full 18 x 24 inch print. Just like previous releases, as mentioned above, we like doing an art print version that is the exact painting before type is put on. It has its own market and ppl appreciate it.
As for payment, these projects wouldn't happen without their approval and we thank them for taking a chance on us. It's just the respect we are giving to the family of one of the more prestigious poster artists in this market. And in general, we also take care of all artist that work with us.
