Work in progress photo from when this piece was in progress, it’s now finished and on it’s way to @antlerpdx gallery, Portland for my upcoming two person show with @kanekokaris. I’ve used this brush on every single painting in the last five years, it started out all bushy tailed and perky and has slowly been ground down to about five bristles, it’s almost ready for retirement but for now it’s just perfect for the tiniest of details #swallowtail #butterfly #miniart #originalart #oilpainting #gold

I’ve felt funny and a bit resistant over the weekend thinking about finishing this painting, I’ve been on such a journey with it. I loved it, hated it, repainted areas, repainted the whole thing, liked it again then stuck it in a box for a week when I just couldn’t look at it anymore! (I hope I’m not alone at being so bonkers with my work ) We have eventually ended up being good friends so I’m sad to finally be adding the last brushstrokes and bidding adieu but at the same time incredibly excited for it to start its new life with its intended family #greatgreyowl #owl #painting #oilpainting #birdsofinstagram #studio

A few more layers on this Barn Owl commission, still focussing on getting the colours and lighting right (and the correct level of ‘cosy’ for the tree nook home I’m making for them ☺️) before I start in on the tiny highlights and spotty feather pattern, so excited about these last touches, they really being the bird to life! #barnowl #originalart #oilpainting #artistsoninstagram #owl #birdart

Last progress pic of this Barn Owl commission before the last details go in, I was absurdly excited to finally paint in those little spots on her tummy! These larger more complicated pieces I’ve been working on recently are always such a challenge and force me to really push myself (tiring but very rewarding!) but the chance to spend my days painting little owl families is pretty much a dream come true ☺️

Also wanted to say;

Vanessa > the best. She is the most gracious and humble artist I have ever interacted with.

I forgot about this, and it got me again. :toilet: :roll:

I had checked on other Big Cartel's...my CC autofilled in other places. But my CC did not here. So it did not work out.
