Man i just cant with what mondo does to manipulate the market they create. Thank god it wasnt a mondo print. I stopped buying mondo when a guy on the inside was caught putting up on ebay, then a year later i heard that they were falsely claiming sold out on prints and would archive a bunch..now i just rather wait for the AP's. I miss the alamo days
lol put away the tin-foil hat. it's common for galleries to set aside prints for archiving, and also in case they need to provide replacements due to shipping damage. That's not market manipulation or "falsely claiming sold out". It's called not shooting yourself in the foot. They didn't used to archive prints, back in the OG days, and because of that when they had their retrospective show a number of years ago, they had to ask collectors and other artists to help out and loan their copies for the retrospective. Now they're a lot smarter about preserving their history.
Now this might completely blow your mind, but artists also will set aside copies of prints they sell for their archives too.

So it goes...
lol.you miss the alamo days where posters sat for sale for weeks in the actual alamo and no one collected them and only value them due to hind sight.
as stated before there are extras printed with every screen printing job. incase of printing error, shipping damage, and aps.
who was this guy on the inside?

Sounds like one of the same people who will send back a print for a tiny soft corner or minor edge ding.
