If the ROI is high, people will go to great lengths to protect their investments. Manev did it once, and was blackballed for ever. But his stuff wasnt flippable so people were quicker the pile on

there was some post on one of the facebook groups of rory's email to mondo like the day after he saw it. and it was stated that another mondo artist also submitted a similar concept for annihilation shortly after. so who knows.

my thing is, i tend to assume people are less nefarious than they usually are.

To complete the circle, anyone got a pic of the art that looked like a big influence on the Francavilla J Park? I know it's also a riff on Kastel Jaws, but someone shared a post from an artist in one of the FB groups a couple of months back. I can't remember the artist annoyingly.
