It's very interesting to think about where the show goes now. Very similar to The Sopranos and Breaking Bag.You have a protagonist that you're supposed to feel for, but they're doing terrible things over and over.
At the beginning of the series, we're told Barry kills people he's hired to; "Bad people. Real pieces of fudge." However, by the finale, SPOILERS: he's killed a fellow marine who did nothing wrong, other than not get out of a car. And he's (presumably) murdered a police officer who was just doing her job. Can he be redeemed? Should we be cheering him on?

It's definitely highly reminiscent of Breaking Bad, but almost the inverse since you're watching someone do bad things who at least seems to genuinely want to stop doing them, whereas Walter White frequently doubled-down on his bad deeds.

Barry is in self preservation mode. Walter White was addicted to the game.

The show really surprised me as I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'll check out season 2 and see where it goes from there. I really dug Henry Winkler as the theater teacher

Loved the way they filmed the finale scenes to make them look like they were apart of Barry's fantasy world.
"We're not the same, Barry. Cause I'm a cop...and you're a drymounting murderer." That line really sums up the whole show. Barry is likable, but he's still a drymounting killer.
Damn.

Yeah, finale really cemented my enjoyment of the show. Whole season was good but that switch to black on the credits with no closing song, just the sounds of the forest outside the cabin was super-effective at driving home Barry's actions.

It was great. Would've even been a great series finale. Glad it's coming back, though.hunterjax wrote:Yeah, finale really cemented my enjoyment of the show.
