I dig the film, Gene Hackman rules. How dare you assume sire. poster stinks tho.jkw3000 wrote:Eh...lukewarm here, sold out pretty quick. Regardless of the design I kinda feel like a poster for "The Conversation" would be flying more quietly in these circles, tbh.

Trying to catch Gemini this weekend. Anyone here seen it? Also the fact that they outlined one of the girls' hair makes it seem like there's a third silhouette there and it's a bit odd.

Interested to see what the finished print looks like for that one.

Was thinking the same thing. Those will be some impressive split fountains, if they pull it off (i guess unless they're doing cmyk)Kramerica wrote:Interested to see what the finished print looks like for that one.

One requires ponying up extra cash, the other only happens after a few days when market is determined to be a bust.

Caught it at SXSW last year and thought it was great. The film is pretty divisive though, but critics are more positive towards it. It's very noir. Not a fan of the print though. I'd prefer something similar to the theatrical poster:playa787 wrote:Trying to catch Gemini this weekend. Anyone here seen it? Yeah the trailer makes it look like a pretty snazzy neo-noir. Gotta choose between this and The Quiet Place this weekend.moviewizguy wrote:Caught it at SXSW last year and thought it was great. Both are great films. A Quiet Place is more of a thrill ride while Gemini is an involving mystery. Depends on what you're in the mood for that day.playa787 wrote:Yeah the trailer makes it look like a pretty snazzy neo-noir. Agreed. I love the colors, but the silhouette approach just doesn't work here. Would've been happy with a print similar to the vinyl artwork or even the one sheet.moviewizguy wrote:Not a fan of the print though. I'd prefer something similar to the theatrical poster
I find it strange that we're at a point in this hobby where we find ourselves saying we would prefer the original theatrical one sheet over the mondo alternate art. Isn't the purpose of alt art to combat the uninspired, commercial nature of the original work?
Nah that’s what FB commissions are for now. gotta go two levels deeponesheet wrote:playa787 wrote:Also the fact that they outlined one of the girls' hair makes it seem like there's a third silhouette there and it's a bit odd.Agreed.
