hi everyone
so i’m planning on making a print purchase soon but i’m stuck. i don’t know whether i should invest and spend the extra money in an older print, or if i should buy something a little less that’s newer. i don’t have the experience most of you do in poster collecting so i’m asking for your assistance in helping me think through my choices. unfortunately i can’t buy them all, and have to choose one (or none i suppose if they’re all mediocre options and i’m better off saving my money).

the choices:

insect’s frankenstein - pink version, artist’s proof from 2004 very good condition
http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/71683

d*face’s statue of liberty from 2008 like new condition
http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/89141

d*face’s drive by shouting - regular edition from 2017 like new condition
http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/242955

what would you do? and why?

any and all help is appreciated.
thank you in advance.

Follow your heart.

Or your groin, if you listen to that.

Honestly you just balance out what you actually like (assume any of these can tank for some inexplicable reason) with what you can afford and the relative scarcity (ie which one of those do you think would be easier or harder to track down should you pass it up).

Dat insect is turrible, dat first D seems overpriced (duke trying to set the record recorded high), and the last D is signed by Blink. All turrible choices. Neeeeext.

of course i understand this. what i was hoping for was some input on whether these are overvalued, at the peak of their worth, if they would be good investment pieces or not, that kinda thing. i can’t talk to / bounce things off my friends because they have no understanding of poster collecting. i’m trying to learn on my own and had hoped that i could reach out to the community here for some productive comments, helpful opinions, and information—not to tell me what to do, but at least give me a few points to think over while making my decision.

If prices are a sticking point, filter out the sold & completed listings on eBay. Or throw up an ISO thread and tag them as want to buy on here and see what happens. You might be able to come under those eBays

Translate this post from bluespeak and it’s good, sound advice.

If you are buying a print merely as an investment but you don't know much about prints then I would say don't buy any of them. But if you are going to buy one merely as an investment, like someone said before, buy something you like. Pretend that all three of these prints will be worth nothing in five years or even today, which is your favorite? Which would you want to hang on your wall?
I'm your huckleberry. That's just my game.
