Their shipping is fudge. Mine was beat around the edges but I think that is it.aldobishalini wrote:Received the JJ linkin park print. Thrown into the tube with no craft paper or anything! Lol awesome
Blade Runner looks pretty great. Reg is my preference from those pics.
When I'm done ranting about elite power that rules the planet under a totalitarian government that uses the media to keep people stupid, my throat gets parched. That's why I drink Orange Drink. - BH
The "Blade Runner" looks incredible, both editions. Effing brilliant, hats off to James Jean and the group that ran this one... of course reveal comes at a time when I was finally lamping on seeking out unattainable posters.
It does look awesome, but I've learned my lesson when it comes to JJ's commision pieces. Having seen the disparity in print quality between my JJ Akira and his normal time released pieces I don't think I would risk $500 + dollars on this new bladerunner. That's not to say that JJ's Akira isn't a very cool piece, its just that its so grainy and pixelated compared to Adrift, Udon II, and Year of the Monkey.
I mean....all of those prints are giclee so....yeah.
i think with blade runner they learned from the printing of Akira and went 'spare no expense'.

what exactly was the problem with the Akira printing? All the pics I saw online of actual prints looked pretty incredible, but admittedly, I haven't seen one in person.
And the printing on these BRs seems above and beyond. I'm not familiar with "transparent" inks, but whatever they did seems to be amazing from the pics and videos I've seen.

i would say its akin to some of Edminston's first few screen prints (Evil Dead 2) where from far away it looks fine but close up it could look blotchy.
Versus something like Edminston's Hateful Eight which has a much more measured approach to its layering and execution.
Anyone know how many layers were on Akira.

I think I only have Mitchell portrait giclees, Edmiston EWAF, and a few art prints (Tomer Hanuka's Spring Awakening is a giclee I think?) and those all look great. Haven't seen the Edminston Evil Dead in person either, but I have heard that complaint.35mmpaul wrote:i would say its akin to some of Edminston's first few screen prints (Evil Dead 2) where from far away it looks fine but close up it could look blotchy.

So Akira is a giclee but it was printed in layers? I guess my understanding of giclee printing is wrong . . . in thought all layers in a giclee were printed at once. Interesting.

Ah, I see now, they meant JJs other prints were giclees (Udon, Adrift, etc.)jmagee87 wrote:Akira is a screenprint
