Why is it hard to believe? It’s an open edition and the last open editions sold on kawsone, the two blush companions, were available for days.

How does an open edition ever say 'Sold Out"?

open edition does not mean unlimited/infinite, it means that the limit has not been set at the beginning of the run. It is an "open ended" edition. Production costs money, takes time, and molds have a limited life so at some point it will no longer be cost effective or deemed a good idea to keep producing. There is also certainly a first production run of these that will run out. it is unclear if it will run out before the second production run is ready.

Regarding the pink, they sold out the first production very quickly and later orders were pre-orders on later shipments.

All that said, I had heard the black would have a limited run and it may well have a limited but large run and people are holding off buying because they feel saturated form the first companions.
