I have always assumed this is a reference to the Big Bang Theory character Barry Kripke....in one episode he is invited to a party and seems he only came for the raffle he was told was going to happen.....when he starts asking about it, his speech impediment causes him to say it as "waffle"....pronounced like raffle with a leading w instead of r, not pronounced like the food of the same spelling.......it is pretty funny because he keeps saying it over and over.

I could be totally wrong here, but that is what I always thought.

It's to get around fb closing them all down because raffles for money isn't allowed on fb. I guess there's some fudge that actually scans everywhere for the word "raffle" and waffle gets around it.

That's shady as fudge then. "Hey look, we want to continue to do something that is explicitly banned, let's just call it something else so we don't get caught.". How about just not doing that thing?

I'd definitely get an art print of that! Great work. Hope you get more and more gig posters and maybe get one for Phish someday! But nobody will take you seriously as an artist until you start using tape and a tape flap.
