Thanks again Scott! :pint: :notworthy:

At our sour fest in Nashville last year they had a handful of 1 off 3 litre (Jéroboam) bottles that they popped. 1.5 litres bottles are big enough but the 3 litres are just silly looking (and to think the biggest bottles are 30 litres).

Any homebrewers up in here?

Don't want to get ahead of myself but I can't remember being this excited about a homebrew just in the primary. It's a DIPA featuring Citra, Motueka, Galaxy hops and the grain bill is loosely modeled after Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn. It's already approaching the desired orangish appearance 5 days in and has an outrageous passionfruit aroma coming from the blowoff jug.

Can post the recipe and report back if anyone is interested. Cheers! :pint:

Got into a can of OH Forever Simcoe with Tacos tonight and that is a tasty beverage, always a bit weary about single hop offerings but that was dandy.

CMG DIPA

2 Row - 7 Lbs [58.33%]
White Wheat - 2.5 Lbs [20.83%]
Munich - 1 Lbs [8.33%]
Briess Victory -1 Lbs [8.33%]
C40 - 0.5 Lbs [4.17%]
Total Grain Bill - 12 Lbs

1 oz Motueka - 30 Mins
1 oz Citra - 15 Mins
1 oz Motueka - 15 Mins
1 oz Citra - 10 Mins
1 oz Galaxy - 5 Mins
1 oz Citra - 5 Mins
1 oz Galaxy - 0 Mins
1 oz Citra - 0 Mins
1 oz Galaxy - First stage Dry Hop
1 oz Citra - First stage Dry Hop
1 oz Galaxy - Second stage Dry Hop
1 oz Citra - Second stage Dry Hop

60 Minute Mash at 153, 1.25/1 water to grain ratio, single sparge

5 Gallons out, 90 Minute Boil, ~3.5 Gallons into Primary
1 Lbs of organic cane sugar added at flame out

OG: 1.092
FG: 1.010 - 1.015 (targeted)
ABV: 10.1% - 10.7% (targeted)

Pitched US-05 harvested from a prior batch, thing was beasting less than 12 hours later.

Still working through the efficiency on my system (pretty simple 5 Gallon cooler mash tun setup) to do much higher gravity brews so the pre-boil volume ended up a bit larger than intended, resulting in a longer boil time. Will post updates on the final product!

Cheers - I'll probably try this one later this spring. Let me know how it shakes out.

Thanks again!

I brew about an hour west, off I90, from you... +/- based on your actual Chiberia location.

nice! what did the IBU's work out to? I've never waited that long in the boil to start hop additions. either way, sounds tasty

Really nice spot, had some super tasty stuff on tap.
I just had their Between the Dead stout here in SF and it was incredible.

Wow that made quite the trip!

Glad you really dug it, very proud of how far the breweries here have come. Didn't get to try their BQE Stout yet but it's supposed to be a heavy hitter.

Video with their Founder from a few years ago.

City Beer Store had a keg for their Beer Week stoutfest kinda jam, no idea how they got it, but they've been known to pull kegs from absurdly far and wide...I was super impressed.
