Here's a pic of how I hang skateboards horizontally with the hardware on each side of the deck. Wing nut tightening down anchor in the wall; had some rubber caps to cover the tip of the hardware. I dont have any hanging right now, but Ive always just used fishing line. One deck was painted black where the holes were so I used black line, otherwise just used clear and always worked like a charm.

Second the sk8ology hangers. Really good.
My new long board with art by DZO. Have it hanging on the wall at the moment with a sweet vertical mount that allows me to slide it off the wall without any issues and ride when I want.
