I was wrong. Saw the gif on something bigger than the phone for the first time: it is not an elk. I have not even seen the tail before. I picked up The Value of Suffering just around the New Year and my girlfriend surprised me with framing for it as a birthday present.
Really happy she pulled it out of storage, it was becoming a shame.
