Mondo Mystery Movie Series

Dawn of the Dead screening

Easily the coolest movie going experience of my life. I'll never forget it. It was incredible

I hate zombie movies and all thing zombies, but I'll admit, that was a killer experience. Police escort kicked ass. Especially when they pulled that one person over and the bus cheered

MMMs are the best. I attended all of them except Die Hard and have lots of great memories. Pumped that they're back

My favorite story from that screening was from a medic. Dude had the night off and gets a call that they need him to come in and go to that mall. He says why it's a ghost town. He wasn't told what was going down so he said he shows up and there's blood everywhere, people attackinf people, people with guns and it scared the fudge out of him.

It's interesting to see that a good chunk of them happen in LA in October 2011.

Was there a particular reason why? And that would've been pretty cool to go to all of them.

Only time I've ever been in Cali. They were all held over the weekend at the New Bev. My favorite screening was The Iron Giant by far. I grew up reading the fudge out of Leonard Maltin movie guides and was thrilled that he announced the movie. He effed up though and revealed the 'mystery' well before the screening. Tong killed the poster. Second favorite screening was The Mist. I had never seen it. Holy fudge that ending. Danger killed the poster. Other screenings were fun but IWish was snoring throughout

This was fun to read what fond memories of going to the movies.

Yea that was insane!!! Went to MMM1 and the DOTD one. Bus ride was sick, all the buildup, guessing. Then pulling into that parking lot seeing all that shait. the Tank, military, zombies. Chaos. So F'n fun. Then the film itself with all those things leaning over the railings on the second floor. Wow. I was sitting second row left side, aisle seat right next to Romero as he was rapping' and then that zombie stumbled up n he shot him, squib hit n all! Classic! HAAA, made the long trip worth it. Remember the absolute silence other than few sighs n "awww mannnn"s when they announced the posters were by Proctor n not Tyler. That was f'd up. Poor Jeff. Haaaaa....awesome experience. Never forget it.

Saw Dawn of the Dead in 3D the other night here in LA. It was part of Beyond Fest which Mondo has some ties too (they had a display of some of their new collectibles as well as some albums and $50 sweaters). The producer and Ken Foree were both there. Shame there was no print for that.
