So lovely to finally have this in hand. Been messaging back and for with Vanessa for little over a year now on this project. It was such a joy to work with her throughout this process. I challenged her to step out side her comfort zone with this bat and she really knocked it out of the park. She came up with the idea of the lantern and the eclipse of moths (thats what you call a group of moths). I just love the story this image tells. Vanessa is a stellar lady.

The bat wasn't the only goodie that was in the package!

Stellar 35mm!!! I had a feeling the bat was yours. Interesting that the idea came from Vanessa, I thought for sure that was a very creative commissioners idea when she first posted pics. She certainly executed that piece brilliantly and I am super-jello myself.

Fortunately she was gracious enough to offer me a bee with our commission too. I'm really looking forward to that almost as much as the full size piece.
I'm not someone else.

Yeah. My initial idea was to have a bat swooping in to grab a moth over an undisturbed pond. And she just took that idea and ran with it.
