That's what I was thinking (insurance), but still the price kind of just makes you go "wow" or "dang"ryan916 wrote:Insurance on $400 is expensive, not $52, but the higher price is probably due to the insurance and weight of a larger print.austx117 wrote:$52 for shipping to Texas.

Why would there be insurance on a poster FROM the artist?!?ryan916 wrote:Insurance on $400 is expensive, not $52, but the higher price is probably due to the insurance and weight of a larger print.austx117 wrote:$52 for shipping to Texas.
If it gets f'd they can just print another one, sign and ship..replacing the damaged one.
It's not like the template disappeared or they can't make more.
It's worth the cost of paper and ink, that's it.
Secondary is another story.

You've never gotten a damaged poster, contacted the artist, then they sent you the exact same #'d print to replace it?Kdh12 wrote:Really? Too many phish shows?

Hecho can't just "reprint" it, they never printed it. Modern Multiples did. They're fine art printers, they make X amount of prints and that's it. They're hand pulled, hand deckled and hand varnished. It's not like they can just press a button.

I can't speak for the out of state guys, but my $54 shipping from LA to LA broke down to $25 shipping, $29 CA sales tax. Seems pretty fair to me, esp given the size of the tube.no1gdman wrote:Yea $52 for Norther California. When you figure he probably has great business rates with UPS and gets tubes near cost.... Shipping is pretty damn steep. Especially on an 18x24.
