Looks like they're basically just cycling through their archive sale items randomly every 5 minutes. The same items pop back in the list probably every other cycle though, so there really isn't that much pressure. It's trying to be like a flash sale you'd see on [retail shopping website of choice]. Except, instead of being on sale, the price is way higher. So, I think their angle is to get the shopper to impulse buy without thinking because "if you wait, it could be gone forever!"
