I realize that. I was just stating their current state. I could certainly take them out of the frames, but I won't until there is a need to. I don't expect any extra money for the prints because they are framed.

So, other than 'not any more because they are framed', any ideas?

No clue here. We need to figure out a way to track sales so it would be easier to get an idea.

Thanks, I am very aware of the prices of individual pieces. I was asking if anyone knew what a complete set, together, was selling for. Sometimes, complete sets purchased together can differ in price from the sum total of the individual pieces if purchased separately.

Adds a 300% markup minimum. No other factors could possibly make a difference and this is definitely the right place on the forum to be discussing it. :rockin:

or just put them up for sale in an auction and you'll find out. or just put what you want for them and see if you get any offers. problem solved.
pay via paypal, use credit card, file dispute at the 20 day mark if suspicious. don't deal with noobs. don't trade with noobs. request feedback ahead of time. there are lots of good people 'round here.

Just avg out what they go for individually and there goes your total. Unless you have a set with matching #'s they're not worth more bc you're selling as a set.

I can't imagine the value of a matching numbered set of the four.

Conservatively:

Milwaukee: $4k
Myrtle Beach: $2k
L.A.: $900
Denver: $1.5k

So maybe $8000 - $8500?

Thanks to all with helpful answers! $8k is what I was thinking, but I wanted to just get a second opinion.

To the others, thanks for confirming that every internet forum in the world does, in fact, have assholes in it. :D

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in the previous comments. The Myrtle Beach Copper tortoise that I bought from Sperry's Peoples Art of Portland show in '13 has a roll bend in the right hand boarder. At least two other of the tortoise variants have the described roll bend, although I am not sure if they are more or less prominent. It wasn't that noticeable to me. My friend who attended these shows proudly displays my old print in its now forever home.

As an aside, the colors pop more on the standard white paper, but the paper is amazing on the tortoise.

This is a picture of one of at least three Copper tortoise MB variants described as having a roll bend in the right-hand boarder.

After some limited research, it seems this 'mark' is most likely from the paper manufacture (it's handmade in Japan). There's no 'rollers' or, as I understand it, anything similar involved in the printing process, so it's not damage as such, but part of the paper.

Mods, can we change the listing to 'Embossed Copper Tortoise' variant?
