Damaged Silk Screen Print Questions:
Hi all,
I bought a Jim Phillips 30th Anniversary Screaming Hand screen print a couple of weeks ago
And when I received the tube it was damaged (crease and water)... I was very sad to see how this classic print was packaged... I did get my full refund and he didn't want the print back.
Question:
Can this print be saved?
What are some good online or local (live in Mpls) art restoration shops?
Here are the image...
Thanks

Good question and I thought I added that up on my post (issues on my side).halftonegraphics wrote:what would it cost to buy a new print?
Searching and have not seen many for the price I got it for. I just want to way out the cos plus I like to try to restore damage art anytime I can.

If it only costs $150 to buy a new one, you might as well buy a new one. I believe Poster Mountain charges a similar price. While they do an incredible job, you'd be better off buying a new one(unless I'm wrong on their price and they're significantly cheaper).

I found myself in a similar situation. The cost of replacement should be around $80 so that's the route I'm going. But now I'm wondering what to do with the damaged print. Was thinking of incorporating it into a table top underneath some polyurethane or resin etc. I've got a lot of research to do before I try that though.

Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. Issues trying to reply to this site on my iphone/ipad.
Before i i added up my thread to the forum i did look up the link you posted and thanks for adding this up. The silk screen print that I have is the 30th Anniversary of the Screaming Hand from the opening show at The Seventh Letter back in July 2015 (Jim Phillips did two runs of 1000 for the event). I contacted a couple of places and they stated it would be around $75.00 depending on any water damage which is not to bad for a "free print". When i get it back to me i will post up a couple pictures to show the print restored.
Thanks...
Update:
I got the print back and it is in mint condition! I am amazed and so happy I saved this print.
I got it online. Seller didn't want the print back and I got my full refund.
I paid the restoration team $75.00 plus shipping.
It took about two weeks to treat it and I was in no rush.

Very helpful group and very talented. I did read a lot of good reviews from customers that have done repeated business.
I have 3 old Fallon posters worth some $$$ and will send them off soon. Plus other prints from poor packaging from some big names (they need a 101 packing print course).
