I'm going to a 'big boy' bottle share this weekend... starting with a bourbon (Pappy 23) and moving into beer. There will be 7-8 people and my contribution will be BC Vanilla Rye and BC Rare (2015). Needless to say, I am pretty pumped and slightly concerned about consuming so much limited beer.

I'll be doing the food for the event needless to say this will be fun! Not sure if Tallahassee will be getting CBS but keep your fingers crossed for me!!

The only problem with these is after awhile you cant appreciate what you're drinking especially if the whales are high abv.

Nah, I'm not the biggest DL fan in the world. I know some of those variants carry an insane trade value (or they used to before the new ticketing system), but there's a really excellent beer tasting event in Milwaukee that always lands on the same weekend every year. They've announced a few, but there's still 25 odd beers yet to be announced that are pretty much all heavy hitters - last year had Darkness, BC Vanilla Rye, SR-71, Assassin, etc.

2016 Round 1 1PM to 2PM
1. Central Waters - Black Gold
2. Cantillon - Kriek Lambic
3. Goose Island - BCBS Rare
4. Deschutes - Abyss Rye & Abyss Cognac

First release today for my Yazoo "State of Funk" sour club. All single barrel beers so really looking forward to trying these as they come out. Also some new glassware that ill have to grab one of. (Damn, Instagram photos are posting huge nowadays)

""Release 1 (Hello)" - 6.1% ABV - A sour blonde ale aged in Sauv Blanc barrels with 5 different Brettanomyces strains and 2 souring bacterias for 1 year. We then added to the barrel fresh whole Kumquats along with the zest and juice of fresh Satsuma oranges to age another month giving the beer a nice citric/sweet/tart character."
