For sure, they are all excellent beers. 18 was really fantastic straight out of the tap/bottle with zero aging. It's always been good, but they seem to really have hit a major groove overall with their barrel program. Gonna need to build another building to store barrels in pretty soon at the rate the brewery is filling up with them.ImAMonster wrote:I don't have any 16 to compare to, but my personal preference is 18>17>Black Gold. Black Gold is a little boozier and felt thinner to me than 18 for sure. It was definitely noticeable when drinking them side by side. I'm sure the finish on BG will smooth out with a bit more aging, but you can definitely tell that it was in the barrels for longer. 18 had almost a chocolate hint for me and seemed a bit creamier than I remember 17 being. At the end of the day you really can't go wrong with any of them.PrintNoob87 wrote:Still an excellent BBA stout, but definitely behind 16, 18, and Black Gold. A touch thinner and a touch hotter than the others. We'll see how time helps it out, but I'd keep sitting if you have some.

And another one for party capacity with the popularity of these releases...PrintNoob87 wrote:For sure, they are all excellent beers. 18 was really fantastic straight out of the tap/bottle with zero aging. I'm also looking to trade for a bottle or 2 of 18
I've got plenty of 3 Floyds, 18th Street, Prairie, Bourbon County, lots of other BB Stouts and Sours.

Anybody end up with tickets to the Firestone Walker Invitational in June? Managed to snag a couple for me and the gf - will be my first time but I've heard great things!

Just scored an OG Vanilla BC. Can't wait to see how it compares to Vanilla Rye.
Just grabbed 2 growlers of Cigar City Jai Alai at Coopers restaurant in Scranton Pa. $18each.
Couldn't believe it when I saw it on tap. Now my holy IPA Trinity is full and I can compare Heady, Pliny and Jai Alai.

No need to compare, you already have them listed properly.carljwiii wrote: Heady, Pliny and Jai Alai.

I heard good things about this. Anyone tried it fresh? Trying to decide if I should go back and get a couple more so I can try one tomorrow and age the rest.
I do have to go back to get a Tweak anyway though.
