… absolutely love his detail work and his pieces that aren't predominantly amateurish sketches of women.
Given the choice, I'd actually love to see Aaron try to tackle a human subject.

Posting this here with an apology up front, sorry that this breaks decorum, especially in this thread because I don't want to be "that" poster (but I am so I am apologizing). I am trying to find the member who was selling (what I believe were) PPs of the letterpress pieces a while back. I am looking to contact that member but cannot remember who it was, if someone could either PM me that person's name or post here, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Very well done! I too have found studying Aaron and Holt's styles as far as layering and shading to be a great asset to my improvements.

What size is the overall image? How much time did you put in approx?

Thanks! Yes it does help with some degree of variance in detail and order. Size i tried to keep it as close to the original dimensions as possible. Approx 9 1/2" x 18" for the image size.

hard to judge time wise i worked on it very speratically over the course of about a month. Few hours during the week here and there and 4-5 hour sessions on some weekends.

That Snare work up is really cool. Your version of the owl gives me some Jim Henson-y vibes and I dig it.
