I hear that Woodford is good, nice sweet corn taste. Right up my alley.

Can't wait to hear how great it is!

it's a home run, and I really can't stand regular Jack Black Label
The bottle I had came in at a robust 128.3 proof.
I thought the Holiday Select version was pretty great, but this tops it!

Went to pick a bottle up. Got home only to realize I accidentally bought the Single Barrel Select. Doh

I'm a big fan.
It's a delicious and complex sipper.

Not what one normally expects from Canadian whiskies.

Had a pretty stellar old fashioned made with four roses and bacon at city pork deli tonight. Bacon soaked in bourbon is quite tasty :pint:

I highly recommend this rum. TPS has a private barrel and it is fantastic. Has a distinctive oakey bourbon taste and I am no fan of too much oak. Just seems to work great with this particular rum. At $25 a bottle it's a bargain. It's one of the few bottles that we have that we both can agree is excellent.

I'm a fan of the brand.
Their standard handle is my "out on the bar rum" and I have been loving the Extra Old for years.
(Pa. has it on closeout at $28.99)

I will pick up a Black Barrel on your recommendation.

it also one of my "go to" rums of choice. I also recommend Diplomatico from Venezuela.

Reserva Exclusiva makes just about every "Top Rums of the World" list, including mine.
Also great: Ron Zacapa Centenario 23, Plantation 20th Anniversary and El Dorado, Flor de Cana or Dictador 12 Year versions.
For a wild ride, try Dos Maderas 5+5.

But this is a thread about whiskies.
Here are some rums that sip with a whiskey-like tone:

Bacardi 8 Year Old
Cruzan Single Barrel Anejo
Brugal 1888
El Dorado 8 Year Old
Appleton 12 Year Old

Yes, this is a wonderful rum! We got a couple bottles of the Black Barrel Single Cask picked by a local place a few years back (one is open, one in storage). The company is very friendly. They had a private dinner (all gratis) at a really nice Beverly Hills restaurant for a couple people from the store and maybe 14 of us customers complete with a different original cocktail using their rum for each of the many dishes. It was pretty spectacular. They know how to do it right in Barbados!
